Earth Teach and FLAAR promoting bilingual readers and resources for the classroom
FLAAR Mesoamérica (Foundation for Latin America and Anthropological Research), is a nonprofit founded in Guatemala dedicated to research and publishing of Mesoamérican flora and fauna resources under co-founder and director Nicholas Hellmuth. The organization is known for their educational resources that educate children about the biodiversity of Guatemala. Their animation team Mayantoons is a project and division of FLAAR Mesoamérica. Friends of FLAAR emerged as the result of a collaboration on a NSF funded project (iDigBees.org) project that resulted in the Lil' Smart Bee animation along with other supporting bilingual resources aimed at teaching Guatemala children and youth about native bee diversity.

Currently Friends of FLAAR is involved in providing editorial services and in translating some of FLAAR's children's books into English
and/or putting into bilingual format. Audiobooks and interactive flipbooks are some of the other formats currently in production in providing an accessible digital format that can also be launched in WhatsApp.
